I LOVE, Lovely Letters!

Thanks for continuing to stop by and take a peak at my creations!  Today I'm sharing something that you can quickly create for teachers, graduates and summer time hosetess gifts.

This project uses two more of my favorite things that are retiring.  I know it's a bit self indulgent.....but I hope you'll enjoy them too!

Center stage on this card... "Lovely Letters Alphabet"  (115030 w)  or (127796 c)
Lovely Letters Alphabet Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!

You can see no matter what letter you choose, it will be crisp with a touch of flourish.  Very sophisticated, but not boring.

I've punched a circle and a scallop circle and mounted them on the Espresso shape cut from
Two Tags Bigz Die (115954)
Two Tags Stampin' Up! Bigz Die - by Stampin' Up!
While both of these items will retire...and I probably won't be showing any new blog ideas with them....I don't know that I could ever part with these two tools.

Can you see the rich detailing on this die cut??  A couple cranks through the big shot and wala..a perfect scallop on one end and a pireced edge all around.
Ok, total bummer!  You have to just imagine it....I see that this photo doesn't show the detailing around the scallop.  But trust me!  It is there.

I trimed the card bottom with the International Bazzar DSP (126920)
International Bazaar Designer Series Paper

and trimmed the top with my favorite embossing folder, Perfect Polka Dots (117335)
for a perfect notecard.

What about a stack of these for a graduate, a teacher, as a hostess gift?  Can't you see using my design with different papers for a rainbow of notecards.?  You just can't go wrong with having supplies like this at home.  You can create 6 or 8 of them faster than getting in the car and finding something at the store......and you did it yourself!

Let me know who you would give a stack of these too?
Or better yet...would YOU enjoy a stack of these as a little gift?

Day of Gratitude for Curly Cute!

Today, I continue to pay tribute to some of my favorite retiring sets!

The retiring items I played with are Pretty In Pink,
Day of Gratitude (120835 w) or (121148 c) and Curly Cute (117014 w) or (120510 c)
I rolled them all into this simple sketch FMS86
You can always follow along here too

When I see Day of Gratitude I think Fall because it was released in the fall and it says Thanksgiving, has acorns and leaves....right?

Day of Gratitude Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!

Well....not all the time!  Does this look FALL?

This medallion turns delicate in pink, with all it's amazing detail.
I heat embossed it, so that you could FEEL it. Can you see the amazing textures here?  Our velvety smooth Very Vanilla Card Stock, the ever versatile Seam Binding Ribbon and the hi lo of a heat embossed image.  It's a treat for the senses....to make and to share!

Curly Cute is just a greeting Power House!

You will see this set several times on my blog.  Search my blog  to find more samples
(Search bar is on the upper left, just under my photo)

Adding a Curly Cute greeting is like a BAM! for card creations.

I finished off the card with a little trim, compliments of the
Needle Point, Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (129383).
This little tool IS being held over to the
2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Contact me ( maryhogen@gmail.com ) if you do not have your catalog yet.

Curly Cute, Day of Gratitude and Pretty in Pink items are all going away!
We have less than 2 weeks before these items retire.  (full list can be seen here)

So what do you think??  I made this for a wedding...but I think it could be a baby card as is.
Change it to some school colors and WALA! a graduation card!

Thanks for visiting my blog.

French Foliage Goes Spring!

In just TWO WEEKS,  Stampin' Up! will retire the 2012-2013 catalog along with a few of my favorite stamp sets.  French Foliage is one of those sets.
French Foliage - Clear-Mount Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
French Foliage (121166 c) or (120845 w)

This set is so much more than a Leaf Set!!  The splatter stamp, the postmark and the script wording are work horses!  You could leave them on your desk and use them all the time.  And the leaves, well, you might think FALL...but thing GREEN, SUMMER!
For this card, I was thinking spring! I couldn't decide on light pink or deep pink so I let a challenge help me out.

PP145

This zoomed in photo lets you see the fun elements in this set.  The flowers were punched from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309)

The greeting comes from another retiring set,

Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
Pursuit of Happiness (121907 w) or (121970c)

Which I also used on the inside.  I think this could be a great Graduation Card!

The dry embossed background is made with, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder (120175).  We have lots of great embossing folders, but I'll still miss this one!

The greeting was cut with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch (126883)
By cutting 2 more in coordinating colors I was able to cut each piece in 1/2 and put it behind the greeting for a fun mat.

You can see how I start with 3 punched items.  The mat colors were cut and then
layered on the back.  From the back you can see how I spread them out to give the
illusion that they are larger.  From the front it looks like they are.
Use this trick with any punch, any die cut or Framelit!

My dad retired from the Post Office.  So I have a thing with mail and hand written notes.  Don't forget to decorate this envelopes.  It's fun for the postal worker and the recipient!  They will both be bitten with anticipation when they see the pretty, spilling onto the envelope!

Stampin' Up! is Moving Forward

The Moving Forward stamp set will retire at the end of May.  I draw your attention to this set because it is so Stinkin' CUTE!!!!   I also think it's a Bargain!
Since it is in the very back of the catalog,  I worry you might miss it.

Moving Forward Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Order Moving Forward Here

Did you know, that with each purchase of the Moving Forward Stamp Set,
Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities?

To showcase this set I played along with the
2013 Thursday Challenges-015

And the

Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309) was used to highlight the front wheel.

When you need a hole in the center of such a small punch....it's best to punch the hole first
....THEN punch around the hole.
Like this!

Did you notice that the greeting is missing from under this Bicycle??

The greeting is placed below the polka dot paper.  Wanna know how I did that?  I turned a 7 piece stamp set into a TEN piece stamp set.

After I placed the sticker on the 3 large images.....I realized I could just SNIP right between the greeting and the image.

With the clean straight cut you can still place them back together easily and use them as intended. But here is the added bonus! This allows you to use a different ink color on the greeting AND it also allows you to use any image with any greeting in this set or from another set.
This makes Moving Forward an even better bargain!

You can quickly had cut the tiny bird and prop him up on a dimensional.
Don't you love the little motion line.  (Try this stamp behind your Bitty Butterfly punch for an
extra dab of Cute!)

Do you recognize the Polka Dot Paper??  It is retired, but you can still get the Digital Download and print any one of these lovely patterns!!  This is a GREAT selection.
Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper -- Digital Download
Mocha Morning DSP Digital Download 129008

Don't forget to decorate your envelopes.  You wouldn't want to leave them "NAKED" would you??

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share this card with you.

Make it a CREATIVE day!
