My very best Projects--EVER!

This is a sneak peek of a card I'll show you in just a minute.
So stay tuned!

FIRST, I have to show you my BEST PROJECTS EVER!

It may not be what you expect here on my blog, so get ready.  These things are so very near and dear to my heart.  Once you see the photo....I do think you'll agree.

My Son Brad his wife Amanda and Breckyn in the pink. My daughter Connie (the PHD grad) with her husband Jeff and their son Drew. Then, the so very, very proud parents, Butch and Mary ;-)
Here's the project!  My Family!
Connie Graduated Saturday with her PHD in Education.  We were all there to celebrate her accomplishment! I'm not sure how she added this one more title to her already long list of TO DO's.  Wife, Mother, and full time educator turned administrator.  Along with all this she is a great daughter, mentor, a super friend and started her own small business as a Thirty-One Gifts rep.
Way to go CONNIE!
We are so proud!!

I could gush all day.  But since we are here, I guess I should get to the stamped project.

Of course I had to make a special card for my Special Daughters Day.

A little sparkle was very appropriate for such an accomplishment.
After I took out the glitter paper, I remembered I had just seen some leftover, foil lined envelopes, from last years Christmas Cards.

Once I took out those envelopes I knew I needed 12 x 12 paper for my base.  You can let the envelope determine the size of your card.   From there you measure the envelope and then subtract 1/2" or so off the top and bottom to get your card size.  When making each layer, you make them each 1/4" to 1/2" (or more) shorter.

Here is a little detail on the layering.

Although this card was used to celebrate a grand accomplishment...I thought you could also ring in the new year with something similar.

Just a few thoughts on my supplies before I list them.
  • I have alphabet dies larger and smaller than the typeset one that I used here.  I thought this set would be redundant, and never get used.  The size is just perfect!  I will use it a LOT!
  • Getting DSP in a digital download is AMAZING!  It's always available, even when you thought it was retired.  Second bonus is that it takes ZERO storage room!
  • Having glimmer paper on hand is just as important as having black and white Cardstock
