More Hearts a Flutter

This is the 4th and final card from my January stamp class.  It features the Hearts a Flutter bundle (clear or in wood)  in the Spring Catalog.  I wish I could take credit for the idea......but the truth is I CASED the idea from from Penny Smiley.    The chalk board technique is all the rage right now.  This is the easiest way I've found to do it.

Just start with Basic Black cardstock.  You can use ink to smoosh the blackboard--but why not use chalk!  You can use any chalk.  I use my Embossing Buddy!
Embossing Buddy - by Stampin' Up!
Embossing Buddy 103083 $5.95
It's a fantastic tool to make you look like an expert embosser because it keeps the crumbs from sticking to the paper.   Smoosh it all around your black layer.  Do this FIRST!  It will help when you emboss too!
(HAH!  Yes..you can look at my center flag and see that I DIDN'T smoosh before I embossed and I have some crumbs hanging around on the right tip of the flag.)

I used 2 techniques on the front so you can see the difference.  I embossed the flags with Versamark and Winter White embossing powder, but I did the saying with a White craft pad for a more subtle look.  The border is edged with a white pencil.  You could uses this white pencil for your own personal sentiment too!

Now for a close up of the details.
So close you can see EVERYTHING!

Look right under the Large Pearl Basic Jewels.   I had punched a hole to run through our Bakers Twine.   Later I added the pearls..so this step wasn't necessary.  But I do suggest it if you are going to go a bit more subtle and leave off the bling.
Now check out the bows on the corner.  The bows were added AFTER!  Don't drive your self crazy trying to tie a bow there.  Just run your straight piece of White Bakers Twine in and out of the holes..leaving a tail.  Then tie a separate little bow.  You can tug at it until you get the perfect little bow.  Now attach it with a friendly Mini Glue Dot and WALA!  you look like an expert bow handler.  Finally a little help from my friend the Dimensional to pop up the center heart.

The small red hearts were punched with our Small Heart Punch....gotta have that in your arsenal of tools for just $5.95

You can rest assured that you will be seeing more
