Quick Valentine....with CANDY!

If you were here earlier today......I've now updated this post to include some helpful instruction.
Let me know if it was worth coming back for.

I love color ..but I'm very traditional in my holiday color choices.
Valentines will be Red and White in my head.
But don't let me hold you back!
Try it with pinks, purples, or something else fun and send me a picture.
You'll find step by step details.
It is really pretty simple....You could have done it with out instruction.
This is a fun and EASY Valentine, so make bunch of them.
It's  designed to hold a fun size candy.
The kids can help you create them and then give them out at school.  You can make a bunch to take to work for people visiting your office or desk.  Make up a stack to keep in your car and just have fun handing them out as you run your errands.  Or make a few and drop them in your neighbors mailbox after the mailman has made his deliveries.

Start with a 1/2 sheet of Real Red Card Stock cut in half from top to bottom then scored on your Simply Scored #122334.
Score at 3 5/8" and 7 1/2" (this works perfect for a fun size M&M)
It is purposely NOT folded into thirds.
That works on a flat letter...but NOT if you are going to put a candy bar or something thick inside.

I cut a piece of Whisper White (3 1/"2 x 4").  I stamped a Real Red heart from the new
Hearts a Flutter Stamp set #129252(clear or #129249 (wood).   Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370 (wood) had the perfect Happy Valentine's Day stamp.
A Full Heart #119833 was punched out of Red Glimmer Paper # 121790 and added.
Notice I mounted the White, right on the edge of the red.  This gives me a side border of red and a top border of red, but none at the bottom. (Don't worry, it will look right when finished)
Now flip the paper over and you will be looking at the ALL RED side.  This is the inside.  You can add your candy now, or later.  I did it now, right in the center rectangle, and adhered it
with Sticky Strip #104294

Next step is to fold up the bottom flap and cover the candy.  I punched a Whisper White Scalloped oval out so I could make a note to my Valentine....this is where your kids would sign theirs.
(Here is a trick, I used a real Red Marker and dotted the scallops for fun)
If you are doing a bunch of these, you could sign the scallops before you attached them.
You'll see that this flap doesn't come all the way up to the fold.  It is designed this way to accommodate lots of different packages of candy.

Now one more little piece of sticky strip, or SNAIL adhesive on the inside edge of the top flap.
This top flap is a little short--but it will show your red border around the white as even.
Fold over and you are secure.

This is from the side.  You can see the front stays flat.  This way the red border around the white remains crisp and even.
Refer back to the top photo so you can see that the edge doesn't come down to the fold.

The top card was stamped with Pretty in Pink ink from the retired Sweetheart Stamp set.

Stamp up a bunch of these and make some HAPPY VALENTINES!

Make it a CREATIVE day!
