Embossed Word Play

I know you will enjoy the technique we played with at my April Stamp Classes.
It proved to be a favorite for many attendees.

A version of this card was shown at the St. Louis Stampin' Up! Regional Meeting.

I wanted to share this idea with you for it's flexibility and because it shows off
the retiring Word Play Stamp Set

Word Play Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
Word Play (120308 w)  or  (120651 c)

The background is made by swiping  a VersaMark Ink Pad (102283) directly onto the Basic Black Card Stock and then heat embossing, with your favorite Stamp and Emboss Powder

Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango Stamp and Emboss powders,
were used on this card.

The, Wish Big was punched out with the retiring, 1 3/8" Square Punch (119877)

Don't you think this would be a cute card for any age?

Just to show how you could use this same technique to make lots of different cards I decided to make another more Masculine Card using our retiring River Rock Card Stock.

Same technique, same stamp set, just different colors and a little added layering.
This card uses Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso Embossing Powders and Card Stock.

When applying the Versa-Mark, I used more of the edge of the pad.
This gives your background a little different look.
I also swiped in one direction and on a diagonal.  Can you tell??

I lightly sprinkled on some Early Espresso powder in some areas and then sprinkled on Cherry Cobbler, it gave a little overlay and duo sprinkling in places.

This next  photo shows the gleam of the embossing powder after it's heat set.

You just can't beat the class of an embossed card.

Make it a CREATIVE Day!
